About Osaka's Newest Support buoys
The Soft Skin Support Buoy is an All-Purpose support buoy, that can be connected to different sections of a mooring or anchor line, to provide support such as lifting a portion or securing its position against displacements or tides.
We have
designed a type of Surface Support Buoys using Soft-Skin rather than the
conventional hard plastic shells or steel frames.
This Soft-Skin has
properties that allow it to absorb damage or withstand damage without altering
so much the properties of the buoy, including prevention of water absorption
over surface damages, which makes a perfect fit on harsher environments, such as
Offshore operations.

Our smaller standard sizes are most typically employed for commercial support operations in aquaculture or in harbors and marinas. Their sizes can be as small as 200 kgs of net buoyancy, and up to 1 ton. With bodies as small as under 1 m in diameter, and achieving 1.2 m. They can be used for marking and pickup purposes. Even smaller sizes, such as 5 kgs, can be also fabricated without a problem.

This range of sizes of our All Purpose Support Buoys can be used for most standard support operations, achieving a net buoyancy between 1.2 and 2 tons, with sizes between 1.3 and 1.6 m. They can be elements that support normal mooring chains in harbors or quays, in near shore applications; for the marking of underwater structures such as mooring lines, or even as temporary buoyancy for other projects.

These sizes are beginning to be heavy support buoys, typically used in the Offshore. They are able to provide a net buoyancy of 2.5 tons, with our 1.7 m buoys, and up to 4 tons on our 2 m diameter models. These are useful on Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems, heavier markings in the offshore, or simply for heavier duty commercial maritime operations. They are particularly useful for some of the newer, more complex fish farms designs that are emerging in aquaculture industry.

Extra Large sizes of these universal support buoys, such as our 4.5 and our 5 toners, are also particularly requested for Offshore applications. These buoys are quite larger in size, with diameters over 2 meters. Even larger sizes, achieving 20, 30, 40 or even 50 tons of support buoyancy are available, particularly through Osaka's more specialized and heavy duty support buoys, both modular and non modular, such as our Anchor Pendant buoys, which are the perfect fit for Offshore Oil & Gas operations.
