Rectangular Anchor Pendant Buoys are heavy-duty support buoys, designed for Offshore use on mooring lines.
Osaka’s Soft Skin Rectangular Anchor Pendant Buoys are ideal to withstand challenging
environments, due to their polyurethane soft skin layer, that has improved water resistance even
at high abrasion conditions.
This design
has the shape of a rectangle, or a “Suitcase”, which simplifies storage and
transportation. Round, cylindrical models are also available.

These smaller standard sizes of our very popular Rectangular Anchor Pendant Buoys are ideal for light anchor pendant lines, being a component of support of some of the lighter mooring lines, but still heavy duty and fully compliant with certification requirements, of the Offshore Oil & Gas projects. They start at simply 1 or 2 tons of Net Buoyancy, and can achieve 6 tons. This buoyancy is achieved with the rectangular bodies of different sizes ranging between barely 1 meter, to slightly over 2.5 m. Smaller suitcase buoys are also available, sizes such as 500 kg or half a ton are still useful for certain offshore applications, on lighter lines.

Our standard medium sizes are the most commonly used anchor handling sizes, employed in standard pendant lines in the Offshore. Their net buoyancy ranges between 8 and 14 tons, achieved with sizes of around 2.5 m bodies of different lengths. Their flat surfaces allow convenient storage, which is particularly appreciated for buoys of this size, which even though is the medium size range, is still considerable.

The most commonly used suitcase buoys are these standard larger sizes, ranging between 8 and 25 tons of Net Buoyancy, which is achieved with buoy bodies of approximately 3 by 4.5 and 3 by 5 meters, they are large. The advantage of having larger anchor pendant buoys is the higher capacity of work that they can be subject to, and in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry this is a considerable factor.

Even larger sizes are achievable. Our extra large sizes begin at 30 Tons, achieved by a 3 and a half by 5 and a half meters "suitcase" buoyant body, connected to the core pipe with the pad eye and crossfix ends. These are employed in heavy duty Offshore operations, even heavier duty than the already large sizes that we categorized as "Medium". Fit for extreme environments, these buoys as well as the other sizes can be designed to be "Self Fendering". Even larger buoyancies for anchor handling can be provided without a problem by Osaka Industry, particularly with our Modular APB options.
