Modular Buoys are a special type of buoy, crafted by bringing together modular pads that can be attached or dismantled between each other like lego bricks, and supported by a central rigid core.
They have gained an extreme popularity in the last decades, as they simplify the user operations, by allowing him on site without extremely specialized tools to safely adjust the buoyancy of his buoys, and the manufacturer, as with one single size of mould it is possible to fabricate a nearly infinite number of different buoys of unique buoyancy and weight.
Modular Buoys can be manufactured in any material, but the most typical is with plastic hard-shell, since it is relatively light weight but solid and rigid enough to be able to craft little connectors, that couple together. We also produce modular buoys using our newest polyurethane Soft Skin technology, as seen on our Anchor Pendant or "Donut" modular buoys, but they have a more limited number of modules. Steel buoys can also have a modular design, but they are more uncommon.
Modular Buoys are extensively used for surface operations, and are particularly popular in Fish Farming and general Aquaculture.
Donut Buoys are the only type of modular, rotating core anchor pendant buoys.
SpecificationsThe main advantage of Modular Buoys is that they give you the capacity to choose exactly how much buoyancy you need, at every stage of your project. This is particularly useful in scenarios where the buoys are not going to be simply used once and then discarded, if the buoys are going to be used several times, and there is an uncertainty of whether they will be used on the exact same conditions every single time, the modularity is a crucial advantage. You can choose different combinations of modules, to be able to achieve several specific buoyancies, as we provide regular modules, half modules, and even sizes in between, so adjusting the buoyancy becomes a simple, painless practice. This also avoids the possibility of ever needing to rent other buoys on high urgency because the ones that you have, even being modular, might not reach the exact buoyancy combination, so you would need to find a local company that has the correct one in stock, pay a large amount for the urgency, and assume that you won't need to do that other times in the future. At Osaka Industry we have available our long experience, our own propietary database of customer scenarios and projects, and a superior ability of designing a tailor made buoyancy system that will be fully adjusted to your requirements. We believe that this is the safer alternative, and that it is worth letting us know your project details sending them at our many available specialized contacts, spending the five extra minutes. Simply finding a buoy from another catalog or another website, no matter how many options are available, can never simply offer you the same prospects of success.
